Either Today or Tomorrow imo, but it could well be next week as Halloween this year falls on a Monday.

EDIT~ In recent years it appears to have fallen on the 21st, which has been on Thursdays.

Wow I love holidays

It's so nice to walk into a town and there is a new setting. People in costumes dancing in rows and people getting drunk and eating sweets in every corner. And a little gift surprise to look forward to.

now just waiting......for the first person to ask 'where is xyz collector--there must be a bug, they arent here' when for the last 6 years...the collectors show up over a period of time....and us telling them---give it a day or so, they will be here, its NOT a bug.

I think I like this holiday more than xmas!

lmao - i know exactly what you mean , i bet you will be also waiting for the "when does mad king come next" which always seems to start first day of an event with an important npc or players asking when the halloween quests start

I like an easy life in gw events

1 Bought notebook and pen
2 wrote down name and date of the first event in the year.
3 Wrote down Collectors listing name location what they want and what they gave.
4 repeat for all events.
5 made a link to the guild wars home page so I know date and time of appearances for emperor Kisu Mad King Thorn etc

This way you don't have to keep asking players what's happening.
It helps also to know the pacific us time zone compared to your own.

Wow, that costume looks awesome! Too bad people have to complain about it. Next year when they dont release costumes because they are too busy with GW2, the same people will complain...

And since I'm in a Halloween topic I might as well ask:

I have a Ranger & a Warrior that have finished Prophecies. They have access to Factions, Nightfall & EotN but I have not gone to any of them yet.

Can I still grind away for sweet/party/alcohol comsumables & participate in the events or will I need to have completed all the campaigns/expansion to access the Halloween events?

No, you don't have to complete all campaigns to participate. ToT bags have a chance of dropping from anything you can kill, so there is a chance of getting them even if your character is still in Pre-Searing Ascalon at level 1, much less having completed all campaigns. There are a few quests that are only available in Kamadan, but it's easy enough to travel there from LA. For some of the quests you will need access to the Underworld, so you must be able to visit ToA or one of the other outposts where this access is available.

Do ToT bags drop more from higher level kills? Is there a better place to farm than others?

they seem to drop at a similar rate hm/nm for me. i do 2-4 different farms because the farm nerf kicks in and i'm farming other things at same time.

by far, the fastest way to farm tots last year was to do that skelefarm in uw. people still have tons because of that farm alone. dunno about this year.

You will enjoy the new competitive mission that is coming out on Monday. I will not. I am, however, zealously playing it through to make sure it runs smoothly for everyone when it is released.

I will likely put out a guide of some sort to it on Monday, after which you can all fuss over it yourselves.

I would cross to nightfall and enter Kamadan this will give you the second mask at the Halloween and Later Wintersday festivals.

The only grind I would guess is farming for the collector items and you can get plenty of those from Prophesies.
There are also quite a few easy to farm items just outside kamadan so you do not need to do much exploring in Nightfall to gain access to them.

I did Greves the Overbearing, Vanquished Anvil Rock, Completed Dragon's Lair, Gates of Kryta, Den Zaijun, Minister Cho's Estate, Chabek Village, Jokanur Diggings and Blacktide Den, all on hard mode.
All i received was 11 trick or treat bags.

Please buff the drop rate, by at least TRIPLE for trick or treat bags!

And to add to my last post, since there's much talk about greed and micro transactions here to support GW...
I do buy things from the GW store, but only if they're useful. I couldn't care less for costumes and such, but i have purchased all the expansions for one of my accounts, plus three mercenary slots and two character slots (character slots being cheaper than bank tabs, just slap on some bags and you exceed the space afforded by an extra tab, for cheaper!)

Why do i mention this? Well, it costs Anet nothing to change a number on a computer to increase the drop rate of special event items, yet it gives every player more fun.

So come on, tweak it. Halloween is once a year! Thanks!
